BASF and Nano One enter into a Joint Development Agreement for lithium-ion battery materials

Clean technology innovator in battery materials Nano One® Materials Corp. (Nano One) and BASF SE (BASF), a globally active chemical company with substantial experience in battery materials development and manufacture, have signed a joint development agreement (JDA). The two companies will co-develop a manufacture process with the aim of reducing by-products for commercial production of next-generation cathode active materials (CAM). The JDA will utilise BASF’s HEDTM-family of advanced CAM and Nano One’s patented One-Pot process and metal direct to CAM (M2CAM®) technologies.

BASF’s range of CAM products contribute to the company’s ability to meet the evolving requirements of batteries in automotive drivetrains, and complement their proven history of developing products in collaboration with other companies. Through use of the M2CAM® process in the JDA…
