The BMW Group and US-based battery development company Solid Power have moved to the next steps of their expanded Joint Development Agreement. Under the agreement, BMW will utilise a recently secured license enabling the company to establish an all-solid-state battery (ASSB) prototype production line at its Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre in Parsdorf, near Munich. The prototype line will incorporate processes developed by Solid Power, and sees both companies mutually benefit from further research and development on solid-state battery technology.
