CATL has launched its Qilin Battery, the Cell-to-Pack (CTP) 3.0 technology that can reportedly achieve a volume utilisation rate of 72% and an energy density of up to 255Wh/kg at pack level. According to CATL, the Qilin battery with NCM cells will easily deliver a range of over 1000km. The battery will be manufactured at scale in 2023.  

CATL launched the first generation of CTP technology back in 2019 and was the first battery provider that was able to reach a volume utilisation rate of 55%. Since then, other companies have followed suit in developing module-less CTP technology. Today, its Qilin battery is claimed to be the pack with the highest level of integration in the world, with CATL reporting
