Global battery recycling company Ecobat has announced it plans to construct its first North American lithium-ion battery recycling facility. The site will be located near Ecobat’s anode production facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, which has already been operational for 15 years. The recycling facility has an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tonnes and will carry out diagnostics, sorting, shredding and material separation in order to produce black mass for eventual processing into active cathode and anode materials. Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.
