On the 24 April 2023, Serbian battery developer and manufacturer ElevenEs announced it has opened the first industrial facility dedicated to LFP cell battery production in Europe. The site, originally announced in October 2021, will become the company’s “Mega-Factory”, targeting an annual production capacity of 500MWh by 2024. The facility will be located in Subotica, Serbia, and will produce LFP prismatic cells for applications across EVs, including cars, buses and trucks, as well as energy storage systems. The company’s patented EDGE cell technology boasts cell-to-pack capabilities, allowing for end-use applications to benefit from higher energy density than other module-based LFP batteries.
