Global leader in sustainability technologies Johnson Matthey (JM) has announced its plans to build a USD97.5million gigafactory to scale up production of hydrogen fuel cell components. The new facility will be built at the company’s existing site in Royston, UK, and will have an initial 3GW production capacity of PEM fuel cell components for use in hydrogen vehicles. Potential future expansion can also be achieved by utilising the decommissioned Clear Air production facility to produce both fuel cell and green hydrogen technology.
