US-based battery recycler Aqua Metals has completed its Li AquaRefining™ pilot line. Aqua Metal’s pilot facility is capable of recovering lithium hydroxide, cobalt and manganese dioxide, nickel and copper using its electro-hydrometallurgical process that utilises electricity in place of extreme temperatures and intensive chemical processes. The company is transitioning to 24/5 operations at the site, with plans to scale to a capacity of 75 tons per annum (tpa) of black mass processing.
