UK-based energy storage developer Eku Energy has signed a Framework Agreement with Renera Energy to partner on the development of over 1GW of battery storage projects in Italy. This is the latest in a host of announcements for utility-scale energy storage projects in the country. Eku Energy is already developing over 100MW of BESS projects in the south of the country, and has recently commissioned its first major grid-scale project with the 150MWh/150MW Hazelwood Battery in Victoria, Australia.
