In the ongoing chip feud between the United States and China, tensions have reached a new level as China recently imposed restrictions on chipmaking materials. Citing national security and interests, the Chinese government has prohibited the unlicensed export of eight gallium-related products and six germanium products, effective from August 1st. The gallium-related products affected by the restrictions include gallium antimonide, gallium arsenide, gallium metal, gallium nitride, gallium oxide, gallium phosphide, gallium selenide, and indium gallium arsenide.
