South Korean materials company Posco Holdings has bolstered its position within the EV battery value chain through two separate, non-binding agreements with GS Energy and LG Energy Solution. The preliminary agreement with GS Energy, announced on Thursday 6th October 2022, sets up a potential JV to establish lithium-ion battery recycling capabilities, with signed-agreement expected before the end of the year. The two companies plan to invest a combined USD118.5 million in the collaboration. Although the details of the agreement’s outcome are unclear at this stage, Posco CEO Choi Jeong-woo stated the company intends to construct a “new industrial ecosystem related to secondary battery recycling”…
