We are very pleased to announce that Ulderico Ulissi has joined Rho Motion as Battery Research Lead. Prior to joining Rho Motion, Ulderico worked at Nissan Motor Company as its Battery Research Engineer, where he managed the project portfolio on next-generation energy storage technologies at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe, and acted as a technical advisor for UK Government funding agencies such as the EPSRC, the Faraday Institution and the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).
Previously, he worked at OXIS Energy as Senior Scientist and Technical Lead for Horizon Europe projects. He has published 16 peer-reviewed papers and filed four patents in collaboration with several industrial partners such as BMW AG, Samsung R&D Japan, EVONIK Ind. AG, OXIS Energy Ltd. His main areas of expertise are solid-state and high energy lithium-ion batteries, focusing on negative electrode materials and novel electrolyte formulations. In his free time, he works as an editor for a book on the application of nanomaterials in electrochemical energy storage, published by Elsevier, and actively supports the open science movement with initiatives such as the “Battery Pub”. He was awarded his doctorate in chemistry in 2017 from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany). Ulderico received his BSc and MSc degrees in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Italy).
