Ascend Elements, headquartered in Massachusetts, US, and Elemental Strategic Metals, based in Zawiercie, Poland, have jointly announced the establishment of a battery recycling joint venture (JV) named AE Elemental™. The JV, equally owned by both parties, will kick off its operations in a recently completed EV battery recycling facility in Zawiercie, Poland.

The first facility already online with more to follow

The first facility is already operational, with plans for more in the pipeline. The Zawiercie facility, jointly funded and operated by Ascend Elements and Elemental Strategic Metals, will primarily focus on processing black mass from EV batteries, with an input capacity of 12,000 tonnes per annum, equivalent to approximately 28,000 EV batteries.
