Audi and SAIC have further strengthened their existing partnership with a new cooperation agreement. Together, they will develop a China-specific platform called the “Advanced Digitized Platform,” through which they will release three BEV models into the Chinese market. This announcement closely follows VW, Audi’s parent company, revealing its own collaboration with Xpeng.
A new platform to hit the China market next year
The new vehicles developed on the “Advanced Digitized Platform” will enable a time-to-market reduction of more than 30%. The first model from this collaboration is expected to enter the market in 2025. Previously, Audi has used VW’s MEB platform for its EVs in China, but its sales have remained limited.
