After years of planning, Europe’s first battery passport has officially been recorded, marking a significant milestone as Volvo registers its first sales of the EX90 in Europe. This initiative is part of the EU’s battery regulation, adopted in December 2022, and represents a crucial step towards improving battery transparency and traceability. By 2026, all batteries will need to be labelled, and from February 2027, battery passports will become mandatory for all batteries sold within the EU.
