The Thootukudi Facility
The facility will be centred around the port city of Thootukudi, Tamil Nadu, with construction of the initial phase expected to begin in 2024. Once complete the facility will have an annual capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles, laying a foundation for improved EV adoption in Tamil Nadu as well as more widely in India. By 2030, India aims to achieve 30% EV sales penetration.
Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, Deputy CEO of Sales and Marketing, VinFast Global commented, “We believe that investing in Tamil Nadu will not only bring considerable economic benefits to both parties but will also help accelerate the green energy transition in India and the region.”
